TRENTON Technology Introduces the T4R Single Board Computer Featuring the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor
Trenton's new T4R is designed as a drop-in upgrade for PICMG 1.0 SBCs. Atlanta, GA - TRENTON Technology's T4R single board computer features a unique power control circuit that supports a +5V only operational mode and eliminates the need for an external +12V auxiliary power connection when using Intel Pentium 4 processors with speeds of 2.8GHz or less. This feature, combined with the T4R's ability to generate its own +3.3V power on board, makes the T4R an ideal choice as a drop-in SBC upgrade in PICMG 1.0 applications. The Intel® Pentium® 4 processor and the Intel 82845-E chipset combination used on the T4R enables full PCI/ISA option card support. Trenton's T4R combines the Intel Pentium 4 processor's Intel NetBurst micro-architecture with 2GB of DDR memory, a 400/533MHz system bus, a 10/100Base-T Ethernet port and a 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN port. The T4R merges the advanced feature set of the processor and chipset with long-life embedded product support in order to extend the computing system's value and performance. "The T4R provides Trenton customers in particular, and for that matter any PICMG 1.0 SBC user, greater choice in increasing the computing performance of existing systems," said Dwight Justice, Vice President of Sales for Trenton Technology. "Increased system performance can be achieved with a drop-in T4R SBC upgrade in order to extend the value of a customer's investment in their existing system." On-Board Features Speeds for the T4R start at 2.0GHz using an Intel® Celeron® processor with a 400MHz system bus and continue through 2.4GHz and 2.8GHz using an Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with a 533MHz system bus. The Intel® Pentium® 4 processor has an L2 cache memory of 512K and the L2 cache of the Intel® Celeron® processor is 128K. The T4R offers DDR200/266 memory, which is available in capacities up to 2GB. There are dual Ethernet LAN ports on the T4R. LAN Port 1 functions as a traditional 10/100Base-T port, while LAN Port 2 offers Gigabit (1Gb/s) connectivity in addition to the traditional 10/100Base-T interface. RJ-45 connectors, located on the I/O bracket, provide the mechanical interface to the Ethernet networks. Using the long-life ATI® Rage Mobility M1 video controller, the T4R supports a wide variety of video resolutions. The video controller has 8MB of video memory that can easily accommodate SXGA (1280 x 1024) pixel resolutions. An optional Ultra160 SCSI interface is available on the T4R and provides data transfer operations up to 160MB/s. The T4R has many other excellent features built in, including hardware monitoring, two serial ports, dual USB ports that are Rev. 2.0 compatible, an enhanced bi-directional parallel port interface, a watchdog timer, and PS/2 mouse, keyboard and floppy drive interfaces. Pricing and Availability The T4R is available now with a list price of $1,299. Pricing and available processor speeds vary, so contact Trenton for the latest T4R pricing and CPU speed availability. Volume and OEM purchase programs are available.
