AMIBIOS8® with built-in advanced CMOS setup for system parameters, peripheral management for configuring on-board peripherals, PCI-to-PCI bridge support and PCI interrupt steering. Supports flash devices for BIOS upgrading via floppy interface. Also provides integrated support for USB mass storage devices such as USB CD-ROM, CD-RW, etc. Custom BIOSs are available upon request.
The Intel® Pentium® 4 processor options on the T4G support a 512K integrated on-die Advanced Transfer Cache (L2). The cache is an 8-way set associative cache running at full processor core frequency. The Intel® Celeron® processor supports a 128K integrated on-die Advanced Transfer Cache (L2).
Both processors include a 12K level one (L1) Execution Trace Cache and 8K L1 data cache.
The PCI bus interface supports a 32-bit PCI backplane interface running at a 33MHz bus speed.
The T4G provides a 16-bit ISA bus interface to the backplane for legacy ISA slots.
Dual high-performance PCI Bus Master EIDE interfaces are capable of supporting up to two IDE disk drives each in a master/slave configuration. The interface supports Ultra ATA/100 with synchronous ATA mode transfers up to 100MB per second.
The I/O Controller Hub of the T4G provides a 10/100Base-T Ethernet interface. An RJ-45 connector on the I/O bracket provides the physical interface to the Ethernet network.
Supports up to two floppy disk drives in combinations of 360K to 2.88MB.
The Super I/O controller supports two full-function serial ports with independently programmable baud rates. The controller has two high-speed, NS16C550 compatible UARTs with Send/Receive 16-byte FIFOs. The IRQ for each serial port has BIOS selectable addressing.
The parallel port interface is compatible with IBM PC/XT®, PC/AT®, PS/2T, Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP1.7, EPP1.9) and Extended Capabilities Port (ECP) modes of operation. Both the EPP and ECP modes are IEEE 1284 compliant. The parallel port has BIOS selectable addressing.
The mini DIN connector located on the I/O bracket provides an external interface for a PS/2 mouse and keyboard. A "Y" adapter plugged into the mini DIN connector allows the PS/2 mouse and keyboard to share the same port. Internal PS/2 mouse and keyboard headers are also available. A self-resetting fuse protects the +5V line of the keyboard and the mouse.
The Winbond W83783S chip supports hardware monitoring. The functions monitored are voltage, fan speed and temperature. The T4G hardware monitor driver allows the user to program the monitor limits to provide trigger points for the application software. This allows the application program to monitor the trigger points in order to send system alert messages or perform corrective actions.
The T4G supports two high-speed USB 2.0 ports for data transfers up to 480Mbit/sec. It also supports USB 1.1 devices for data transfers at 12 or 1.5Mbit/sec. The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an interface allowing for connectivity to many standard PC peripherals via an external port.
The analog video interface of the Intel® 845GV chipset has a wide range of video and graphic capabilities including pixel resolution capabilities of up to 2048 x 1536 (QXGA) and support for high performance 3D, 2D graphics and video. The chipset uses a portion of the T4G's DDR system memory to provide video memory. Software drivers are available for most popular operating systems.

Double Data Rate (DDR) memory improves memory data speeds demanded in data-intensive applications. The DDR200/266/333 interface is a single-channel interface coming off the Memory Controller hub and terminating at two DIMM module sockets. The DIMM sockets can be independently populated with either PC1600, PC2100, or PC2700 unbuffered memory modules. The memory interface supports auto detection of memory up to 2GB. The bandwidth of the DDR200/266/333 memory interface is 1600MB/s, 2100MB/s, or 2700MB/s.
The programmable watchdog timer provides a system reset with a total range of 30ms to 60 seconds. The programmable increments of the watchdog are 30ms, 10s and 60s.

* From backplane via PICMG® connector.
** From ATX12V power supply or equivalent via P24 connector.
The Intel® Pentium® 4 processor's power requirements created the need for an additional on-board 4-pin power connector (P24). This connector requires +12V from an external power supply that conforms to the ATX12V power specification.
This external power supply should have a minimum wattage rating of at least 250W. The T4G also requires that 3.3V be applied to the backplane from the power supply.
The system power supply must conform to the power sequencing specifications of ATX compliant power supplies. Voltage levels must be regulated within a range of +/- 5%.
The T4G continuously monitors the incoming +5V and +3.3V power lines from the system backplane. If the +5V line drops below 4.75 volts or the +3.3V line drops below 2.97 volts, the T4G issues a hardware-reset command. This feature helps maintain control and allows the system to automatically restart. A two-pin header is available for applications that require an external reset switch. On-board power lines are also monitored in a similar fashion.

A Intel® Pentium® 4 processor can consume as much as 70 Watts of power on the T4G. The T4G's cooling system uses a high-reliability fan.
SBCs with processor options less than 2.8GHz use a low-profile (1.65" height) active cooling system. Overall dimensions for the T4G with these processor options, including the active cooling system are 13.3"L (338mm) x 4.8"H (121.9mm) x 1.65"W (49.1mm). SBCs with processor speeds 3.06GHz or greater use a taller active cooling system and have overall dimensions of 13.3"L (338mm) x 4.8"H (121.9mm) x 2.18"W(55.37mm).
*Trenton validates extended temperature operation for processor speeds 2.8GHz and below. The taller active cooling system must be used for extended temperature operation. Consult Trenton for details.
